A startup founder who raised $500,000 while four months pregnant, and insisted on three months’ maternity leave as part of the deal, has urged other female entrepreneurs to “call out” their family plans. Sarah Pearce launched Travelshoot, which links travellers with professional photographers, in 2015 but by early 2016 it had a surprise success – a distribution deal with travel agency giant, Flight Centre.
